Thousands of people disenfranchised, evicted and deprived of their livelihoods, this is not current affairs but a process over years. Near Kade, Eastern Region of Ghana, a Belgium Oil Palm Farmer promotes biodiversity and drives out residents. GOPDC owns two industrial plantations, in Kwae and Okumaning, with a total concession of 14,153 ha but only 7,700 ha being already developed. One of the evictees is 98-year old Elisabeth.

Elle se propose principalement de faire, d’une part une analyse approfondie de la question foncière dans trois pays (Togo, Ghana et Côte d’Ivoire), et, d’autre part, de comparer les systèmes de gestion foncière de ces pays avec celui du Niger qui constitue un modèle dans la sous-région ouest-africaine.

In Gatte, a village in the rural community of Dangalma located in the borough of Ngoye in the Bambeye region, 25 km north of Diourbel, land is an exclusive preserve of the men. It therefore cannot be inherited by women, a recent study in the area shows.
